Since 1928, Signal kids have been asking that same question. When it’s a “yes”–only August to February, when the apples are fresh–my kids are always among the first at Signal’s Fairmount Orchard. They can’t wait for that first sweet-tart sip and to gather a winter-time supply of the one-of-a-kind, fresh-pressed cider.
The Roberts family took over the orchard in 1971 and say locals start stopping by earlier and earlier every year anxious to get a first taste from the new crop. The recipe, they say, really isn’t secret. “We just blend together all our varieties—Arkansas Black,___ and ___– and let nature take it’s course.” Like you, I can attest that Signal’s mother nature has never missed!
